RECAP: VIKINGS MEET

Our Boys Div 2 Relay Team waiting at the blocks to swim

By Coach Rachel

The Super Sharks made a splash at the Vancouver Vikings meet on July 13th and 14th at Watermania.

The invitational meet kicked off bright and early, with two full days of preliminary heats and finals ahead. As an open meet with circle seeding for all preliminary rounds and no A/B distinctions, it was a busy day for everyone involved.

The Super Sharks made their presence known throughout the day, and despite being sore and tired from Challenge Week (Hell Week), many of our swimmers achieved personal bests. The effort put into setting up base camp in the most desirable spot on the grounds did not go unnoticed.

A special shoutout to Daniel Wooley for achieving a provincial qualifying time (PQT) and breaking our club record for the 50m breaststroke. Excellent work, Daniel keep it up!

A big thank you to our talented and dedicated parent volunteers. Their support was invaluable, and we're excited to congratulate Brenda, Brent, and Ian for receiving BCSSA pin promotions, recognizing their expertise in various official roles.

Some of our very talented coaches also showcased their skills in a coach's relay of 50 meter IM. All in all, we had a fantastic time and are looking forward to competing in the next meet!
