SUMMER SWIMMING CLUB SEASONS

SUMMER

May to Mid-August

Race training with practice 3-8 times per week (depending on level & commitment) plus weekend swim meets.

FALL

September to Mid-December

Maintenance training with practice 2 days/week.

WINTER

January to April

Maintenance training with practice 2 days/week.

PRACTICE TIMES & LOCATION

Swim practices run every week except during school breaks in the winter and spring. In the event of a last-minute canceled practice, swimmers and their parents will be notified by email.

All practices in the fall and winter are held at Templeton Pool in East Vancouver. When training times increase in May, practices may also be held at other local Vancouver pools.

SWIM GROUPS

Swimmers are divided into groups based upon ability—not necessarily age. New swimmers are placed in a group based upon their swim assessment and swimming background:

These groups are reassessed at the beginning of each season, and coaches may shift a swimmer up or down mid-season.

EXPECTATIONS

At swim club we don’t only show up and swim laps, we also work on skills such as responsibility, respect, team building, and other life skills. As such, these are the swimmer expectations from our coaches:
